I’m not a surfer.
However, it didn’t take long for this woodworker to get requests for a shaped board that is rather popular in the surf-friendly environs of Southern California.
And, inevitably, when I started making them they were purchased for people all across the country. I’ve been told that they will be used as everything from RV cutting boards to sushi boards to display pieces.
Small surfboards are approximately 5″ wide x 16″ long. Medium surfboards are approximately 8″wide and 20″ long. All of these boards are 3/4″ thick, and are made for 2-sided use (so they have no rubber feet). The large cheese & cracker servers are actually almost oval in shape, but everyone calls them surfboards when they see them. They are 12″ wide x 20″ long x 1-1/4″ thick.
I know some people display the 2 smaller versions on one side and only use the second side, but you can ride the waves however you like, brah.
