Routed Bowls

Bowls are generally turned on a lathe, but there’s another technique that creates some wonderful serving pieces. These bowls have the non-bowl removed on a drill press, and then the smooth of the sides is done with a hand held router. If you’d like to see some “making of” photos, then go to MowryJournal.com to see “Making A Snowman” and “Football Snack Bowl.”

If you’d rather simply see the fruits of my labor, here you go!

Prices vary with the size of the piece, the woods selected, and the complexity of the construction. As shown, these bowls cost $10 – $125.
